COVID-19 Update As Of September 11: 5,001 Positive Cases Found

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 231,570 specimens as of September 11, there were 5,001 positive confirmed cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,163,732," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Saturday, September 11.

Then, the recovered cases also increased. In fact, the number is greater than the positive cases with 7,586 people. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 3,909,352 people.

On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased by 270 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 138,701 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, East Java. 547 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 was West Java with 446 cases. Furthermore, North Sumatra with 374 positive cases, Central Java with 295 cases, and West Kalimantan with 271 cases.

For DKI Jakarta Province, the addition of positive cases is still quite a lot. A total of 268 have tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, for recovered cases, based on data, the most cases were found in North Sumatra Province with 796 cases.

In second place, East Java Province with 681 cases recovered. Then, Yogyakarta Province with 560 cases, and Aceh with 457 cases recovered.

Especially for DKI Jakarta, the number of recovered cases is quite high. Around 401 people have recovered from COVID-19.

So far, only three provinces have reported additional cases of under 10 and no positive cases, namely, Gotontalo, Maluku, and North Maluku.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 34,550,865. In detail, as many as 23,941,511 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 231,674 specimens using the molecular rapid test (TCM), and 10,377,680 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 3.49 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 229,927 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
