Alleged Bribery Of Selling And Buying Positions In Probolinggo, KPK Investigate Stages Of Proposed Names Of Village Head Officials

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating a number of matters related to the alleged bribery of buying and selling positions that ensnared the Regent of Probolinggo Puput Tantriana Sari and her husband, Hasan Aminuddin.

One of them is examining the stages of proposing names to become village head officials to fill vacant positions due to the withdrawal of village head elections (pilkades) in Probolinggo Regency. This was done by investigators by examining five suspected bribe givers in this case.

The five bribe givers were Mawardi, Ali Wafa, Mashudi, Mohammad Bambang, and Jaelani. All witnesses were present and have been questioned at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Wednesday, September 8.

"The witnesses were present and confirmed, among other things, related to the stages of nominating names to become village head officials," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Thursday, September 9.

In addition, the suspects were also investigated regarding the giving of money to Puput through her husband, Hasan Aminuddin, who is also a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Faction and the former Regent of Probolinggo in the previous period.

"(Explored, ed) there was the provision of money to get approval from the PTS suspect through the suspect HA," said Ali.

As previously reported, the KPK has named 22 people as suspects in this case of buying and selling positions. They consist of 4 bribe recipients and 18 bribe givers.

Bribes were given so that they could serve as village head officials in the Probolinggo Regency Government. Each person is required to pay Rp. 20 million and the village land tribute of Rp. 5 million per hectare.

The four recipients were Probolinggo Regent Puput Tantriana Sari, DPR member Hasan Aminuddin, Krejengan sub-district head Doddy Kurniawan, and Paiton sub-district head Muhamad Ridwan.

While the 18 donors namely Sumanto, Ali Wafa, Mawardi, Mashudi, Maliha, Mohammad Bambang, Masruhen, Abdul Wafi, Kho'im, Akhmad Saifullah, Jaelani, Uhar, Nurul Hadi, Nuruh Huda, Hasan, Sahir, Sugito, and Syamsuddin as suspects giver. They are all state civil apparatus (ASN) in Probolinggo.
