Here Are Neymar's Payment Details In His First Year At Paris Saint-Germain

JAKARTA - Details of Neymar's payment in his first year at Paris Saint-Germain have been revealed. The numbers are quite astonishing.

According to reports accessed by MARCA, the Brazilian forward earned 400 million euros during his first season in France thanks to a number of commercial contracts and his worldwide influence when he moved to Paris.

The amount revealed in the El Mundo report has been acknowledged by PSG, but they insist that the Brazilian's signing was an investment.

"We will make more money from Neymar than we spend", said club president Nasser Al Khelaifi on the day Neymar was introduced as a new player.

Evidently, PSG's official shop made more than half a million euros in the two hours after Neymar's jersey was sold.

The club also insisted that without Neymar's presence, they would not be able to reach a lucrative deal with Italian brand Replay or Nike Jordan. The club's social media followers have also skyrocketed.

TV viewership increased by 25 percent in its first season in France and Disney Channel also announced that it had purchased the rights to broadcast Ligue 1 matches in Brazil, which are broadcast via ESPN and Fox Sports.

"Neymar's arrival has undoubtedly given PSG and the French league another dimension", said Yoann Godin, director of international development for Ligue 1.

"His first game was one of the most-watched in the history of football".

People in Paris say his arrival makes PSG the second most profitable club in the world, citing a Deloitte study that ranks them among the five most powerful clubs on the planet.

There are many who also insist that Neymar's former Barcelona team-mate and close friend of Lionel Messi would not have moved to France had the Brazilian not been at PSG.
