Ganjar Wants Jokowi's Target On Vaccination To Be Achieved, But Please Pay Attention To Adding Vaccines For Central Java
BANJARNEGARA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said his party needed 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccines per week from the central government to achieve the vaccination target that had been set.
"We are optimistic that it will be completed by the end of this year, because that is the President's target, so we must accelerate, including adding vaccines to 2.5 million per week," he said after chairing the Coordination Meeting for the Handling of COVID-19 at the Banjarnegara Regent's official residence. .
Ganjar explained that the vaccination target in Central Java is 28 million people, but so far only 7.7 million people have been vaccinated with the first dose and 4.5 million people have received the second dose.
According to him, the government continues to increase the stock of vaccines for Central Java, but if it is calculated, the stock is still insufficient to meet the target.
With current shipments of only 1 million to 1.6 million vaccines per week, Ganjar continued, the target of completing vaccination by the end of the year will be difficult to achieve.
"I have mitigated it, my guess is that if there are lots of vaccines, we run a little faster in October, November to December, so we prepare several scenarios so that if we add (vaccine stock), we can be lighter," he said.
Ganjar revealed that a number of areas in Central Java are ready to accelerate vaccination, even today, the Sragen Regency Government is ready to inject 13,000 doses a day.
"If this is possible, I actually want to show the central government that, God willing, we are capable, the regional government is capable of accelerating," he said.
However, there are several areas in Central Java where vaccination achievement is still low, one of which is Brebes Regency.
"We hope that the acceleration will be carried out because the allocation is increased. I ask you not to forget to record in the Pcare and Smile applications, because from there the achievements in the regions are read by the center. Including I entrust them to prioritize the elderly and those who are at high risk," he said.
