Greet Paralympic Athletes Hari Susanto And Dheva Anrimusthi, Kang Emil Touched And Proud
JABAR - West Java (Jabar) Governor M Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil greeted athletes from West Java who represented Indonesia at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics via video conference from Bandung, Monday, September 6.
Kang Emil said he was proud and happy for the achievements of athletes from West Java at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
The Governor of West Java's special appreciation was addressed to the two athletes who contributed medals, namely Hari Susanto and Dheva Anrimusthi from the badminton sport.
Hary Susanto from Majalengka Regency won gold from the mixed doubles number with his partner Leani Ratri Oktila who in the final defeated the French mixed doubles.
Meanwhile, Dheva Anrimusthi, who won a silver medal in the men's singles event, is an athlete from Kuningan Regency.
"With our pride and joy for the achievements and hard work that brought the nation's name to Indonesia, of course, domiciled from West Java," said Ridwan Kamil as quoted by Antara, Monday, September 6.
According to him, this achievement is also a manifestation of "West Java's Inner and Outer Champion".
Moreover, at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, West Java athletes also donated several medals from badminton through Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and weightlifting through Windy Cantika Aisah.
"So, West Java is the Outward and Inner Champion because at the Olympics, we (West Java) also won silver and bronze yesterday. Now we also have one gold and one silver. It means, West Java contributed one extraordinary thing," said Kang Emil.
He also expressed his gratitude to all the athletes who competed in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
Although some have not been able to donate medals, their appreciation for their struggle to defend the country is highly appreciated.
Ridwan Kamil also invited West Java athletes to Gedung Sate to receive direct congratulations and appreciation when the team and officials arrived in the country.
"On behalf of the proud people and on behalf of the proud provincial government, we are very touched and very proud of their achievements," said Ridwan Kamil.
"Of course, later we will give appreciations, we will convey them later specifically at a good time," he added.
At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, Indonesia sent 23 athletes in total, and five of them came from West Java. The five athletes consisted of three badminton athletes, Ukun Rukaendi, Hari Susanto and Dheva Anrimusthi, then Muhammad Fadli Imammudin from bicycle sports and Jaenal Aripin from wheelchair racing.
"There are 23 Indonesian contingents, and five West Java athletes," said Head of the West Java Province Youth and Sports Service Engkus Sutisna.
