Finally, Trans TV Apologizes To The Public For Glorifying Saipul Jamil's Freedom

JAKARTA - Singer Saipul Jamil was declared free after serving a prison sentence of five years and seven months in Cipinang Prison. Even though he was considered guilty, Saipul was warmly welcomed by a number of television parties.

Not a week after his return, Saipul Jamil has appeared on several television shows, one of which is Viral Coffee which airs in the morning. The appearance of Saipul caused criticism from the public because the response was considered excessive.

Not only that, looking at his Instagram account, Saipul Jamil also wore a prisoner costume for the Joking But Relaxing event. These two shows are broadcast under Trans's television channel.

Today, September 6, Trans TV apologizes for the inconvenience of netizens with the Viral Coffee program which airs on Friday, September 3.

"We receive criticism and input regarding the Viral Coffee program which airs on TRANS TV on Friday, September 3, 2021 with guest star Saipul Jamil," wrote TRANS TV in the Instagram account @transtv_corp.

Trans TV stated that netizens' criticism was an evaluation for the production team to make it better. They also uploaded this statement through the official Twitter Trans TV social media.

Warganet responded to Trans TV's apology with annoyance. Not a few have asked why they have to invite perpetrators of sexual abuse of minors on television shows.

“Disappointed, usually the event on September 3 is acc, and on air. Don't give glorification to (former) criminals. I was surprised at first, how come TRANSTV~ The impression is that it actually declares or considers crime normal," said a netizen.

"Next time, invite a "weighty" NarSum, for example, invite paralympic athletes who bring medals for Indonesia..." said another.

"Hopefully I can give more useful shows, bro, for things that are viral and full of controversy, you don't need to be invited, indirectly the television also supports all immoral things," said another user.
