MUI Lebak Banten: Employers Of BLBI Funds Must Pay Off Debt Immediately, Otherwise Risks In The Hereafter Can Go To Hell

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Lebak Regency, Banten Province has appealed to the lenders of the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) funds to immediately pay off their debts, because it is legal for people to have a large amount of dependent debt in the future.

"If they are Muslims who die leaving debt behind, they will go to hell," said Deputy Chairman of the Lebak MUI KH Ahmad Hudori during a discussion on the Rp110 trillion BLBI aid case in Lebak, quoted from Antara, Saturday, September 4. have debts, but they do not intend to pay them off. In addition, the burden of people who leave debt will go to hell. Therefore, his party appealed to the BLBI fund takers to be responsible for paying them off. "We hope that the BLBI debts by entrepreneurs can pay off in installments or take their assets, because if they are not paid, they will go to hell in the hereafter," he explained.

According to him, the current economic condition of the Indonesian people is quite concerned in the midst of the pandemic. Macro and micro economic growth has not been stable, so it requires finance to support people's welfare. Thus, he said, the government formed a coordinating team to collect BLBI funds involving the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Human Rights Mahfud MD as well as the State Billing Rights Task Force for BLBI Funds to implement Presidential Decree No. 6 of 2021. The government's seriousness should be appreciated in completing the handling of the BLBI fund case. This is because the case of BLBI funds that have harmed the state's finances has not yet been resolved.
