Mahfud MD Ensures Papua Is Safe To Control, PON Is Ready To Be Implemented

Mahfud said that various potential threats had been anticipated. Thus, the implementation of PON and Peparnas is expected to run well.

Finally, Mahfud mentioned the readiness of PON and Papernas which he said had reached 99 percent. He said a number of athletes were scheduled to start arriving in Papua on 20 September.

"PON itself will be officially opened on October 2. But on September 20, athletes began to arrive and since then security and comfort have been prepared by the apparatus, committee, and even the Papuan regional government," he concluded.
