West Papua Governor's Message To The Community Concerning The Death Of 4 Indonesian Army Soldiers
SORONG - West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan asked the civil society of Kisor Village and residents of Aifat District to provide information regarding the deaths of four Indonesian Army soldiers.
Then, he also asked the surrounding community to remain calm and not be easily provoked by various incitements because the government and law enforcement officers certainly provide security guarantees.
"The people of Kampung Kisor around the location of the incident would like to provide correct information to assist the security forces in carrying out their investigation tasks against the group that attacked the Koramil Post," said the Governor of West Papua as reported by Antara, Friday, September 3.
Dominggus expressed his condolences for the deaths of four members of the Indonesian Army during the attack by armed groups at the Koramil preparation post in Kisor Village, South Aifat District, Maybrat Regency.
"Representing the entire community of West Papua province, we share our condolences for the return of the nation's four best sons. Their dedication and sacrifice is extraordinary for the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia and the people of West Papua," said the Governor.
The governor hopes that the good prayers of all the people of West Papua accompany the return of the nation's four best sons, may they be accepted by God, the Owner of Life.
"We all pray that the spirits of these four true soldiers and patriots who defend the people will be accepted by God," said the Governor of West Papua.
On this occasion the Governor fully supports the legal steps that are being taken by the TNI-Polri apparatus to arrest the perpetrators to be processed according to the law in force in the Republic of Indonesia.
"The actions of the perpetrators are very inhumane, we fully support the efforts of the Commander of the Regional Military Command and the Head of the West Papua Police to work together to arrest the perpetrators so that they will be prosecuted according to their actions," said the Governor.
Previously, in a joint press conference with the media at the Kasuari Kodam XVIII Headquarters, Commander I Nyoman Cantiasa said that the attack group for the Kisor Koramil Post was a Terrorist Separatist Group with ideological opposites to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
The commander said that the group attacked the Koramil Headquarters in the early hours of Thursday, September 2 with a force of about 30 people using sharp weapons (machetes) and killed four of its members.
"I have ordered joint personnel to pursue and arrest, whatever the conditions," said the Commander.
He hoped that the civil society would assist the apparatus in providing information on the whereabouts of the group without hesitation because the TNI and Polri provide full security guarantees to the civilians around the scene.
"The people of Kampung Kisor do not need to be afraid, we provide security guarantees. Community assistance is very important for us to find out the location of the escape and the hiding place of this separatist group," said the Commander of Kodam XVIII Kasuari.
