232,000 Workers In Yogyakarta With A Salary Of IDR 3.5 Million Will Get Subsidy Assistance

JAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Employment Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) Branch Office said that as many as 232,000 formal workers with salaries below Rp. 3.5 million per month in five regencies/cities received wage subsidy assistance (BSU) 2021.

"The distribution of BSU has begun in early August 2021 in stages. Transfers are carried out until September because the number of recipients is large," said Head of the Yogyakarta Employment BPJS Branch Office Asri Basir in Yogyakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, August 31.

Asri said the number of recipients of a wage subsidy of Rp. 1 million per person in DIY had decreased compared to the total recipients in 2020 which reached 244,000 workers.

The decrease, according to him, was due to the maximum salary limit requirement which had changed from below Rp5 million per month to below Rp3.5 million per month.

The distribution is carried out simultaneously for workers in five regencies/cities in DIY.

"Because the distribution must go through the Himbara Bank (State-Owned Bank Association) we have to make an account first if the workers don't have one," he said.

However, he said, the BPJS Employment Yogyakarta Branch Office did not know for sure the progress of the number of workers who had received the assistance.

However, as long as they meet the requirements, the BPJS Employment participants will certainly receive assistance that is distributed in stages.

"If there are complaints because they have not received the BSU, they can go directly to the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) DIY," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Industrial Relations and Manpower Protection of the DIY Manpower and Transmigration Office, Ariyanto Wibowo, hopes that the Rp 1 million per person wage subsidy can be used as well as possible to support needs during the pandemic.

"To support life in this unstable time. Although the value is considered small, please use it wisely," said Bowo.

Previously, the DIY Manpower and Transmigration Office noted that 3,179 workers in this area had been laid off since the beginning of the Imposition of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) on July 3, 2021. .

Meanwhile, Bowo continued, referring to data up to August 2021, there were 221 workers affected by layoffs (PHK) by a number of companies in DIY.
