Coordinating Minister Airlangga Says COVID-19 Cases Outside Java-Bali Are Also Getting Better, Here Are The Details
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartato explained that the development of COVID-19 outside Java and Bali also showed improvements, such as conditions in Java-Bali.
Airlangga explained that active cases of COVID-19 on the island of Sumatra fell by 42.17 percent from two weeks ago, in Nusa Tenggara it fell by 65.36 percent, in Kalimantan it fell by 51.72 percent, in Sulawesi it fell by 47.34 percent, and in Maluku- Papua fell 29.9 percent.
In addition, the case fatality rate (CFR) outside Java-Bali has also decreased. He explained that the CFR in Sumatra fell by 3.3 percent, in Nusa Tenggara it fell by 2.23 percent, in Kalimantan it fell by 3.1 percent, in Sulawesi it fell by 2.4 percent, and in Maluku-Papua it fell by 1.55 percent.
"So, in line with the national, there is an improvement," said Airlangga in a virtual press conference, Monday, August 30.
Meanwhile, as of August 20 to 28, 2021, a number of regencies/cities outside Java-Bali also experienced a decline in the PPKM level assessment.
During the past week, the implementation of PPKM Level 4 which was previously in 104 regencies/cities has now become 85 regencies/cities. Then, PPKM Level 3 from 234 regencies/cities decreased to 232 regencies/cities.
Meanwhile, regions that have implemented PPKM Level 2 have increased from 48 urban districts to 68 districts. Then, PPKM Level 1 increased from no district/city to 1 district/city
"Regarding the areas outside Java-Bali, the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction No. 36 regarding the Implementation of Level 4 PPKM Outside Java-Bali, and the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction No. 37 concerning the Implementation of PPKM Levels 3, 2, and 1 Outside Java-Bali, is enforced. August 24 to September 6," explained Airlangga.
