Refugees Complaints About The Empty Kebon Fire, Need Pampers For Toddlers And Ask For Homes To Be Made
JAKARTA - As many as 55 family heads (KK) from RT 014/05, Kebon Blank Village, Kemayoran whose house was destroyed by fire are still taking refuge in SDN 09 Kemayoran. Residents hope that assistance from the government and the private sector will continue to come because there are 17 toddlers who are in dire need of diapers.
Based on VOI's observation at the location in the Kebon Blank fire shelter, the female and male refugees were separated into two different rooms. They are placed on the ground floor of a classroom belonging to an elementary school student.
In the refugee camps, it was observed that there was a lack of incandescent lighting from the Central Jakarta Industry Sub-Department. In addition, residents also lack portable toilets, requiring residents to queue long by only using school toilet facilities.
Then according to a number of refugees, they have not received medical assistance. Currently, the only assistance is in the form of ready-to-eat meals without a public kitchen.
"Pampers for toddlers and for the elderly are really needed here," said Atje (72) as the head of the local RW 05 to VOI at the evacuation site, Monday, August 30.
Atje said that in the refugee camps there were only 55 families who were natives of DKI Jakarta.
"There are some original residents of DKI, totaling 55 families, 250 souls. Many residents also rent contracts at the location of the fire, so they don't come to the refugee camps here. Currently, apart from pampers, my residents need blankets and bedding or carpets," he said.
Meanwhile, Suharti (61), a resident of RT014 / 06, Kebon Blank Village, said that this fire accident had only happened once during her life since she was born.
"The fire started with electricity. People didn't know that there was a short circuit. Suddenly, the fire was full from this electric pole. Everyone ran. At sunset we all ran, it spread until 9 pm. Everything was gone," he recalled. to VOI, Monday 30 August.
Suharti hopes that the PPKK will allow her to return to build her house.
"I ask for help to be able to build a house. Let my family have a place to live like before," he hoped.
According to Suharti, he admits that he is no longer able to contract.
"Just for daily meals, how are conditions like this? Trade is also not possible, until it is brought by the PP. I want it to be made a house again," he said.
Meanwhile, Ganes, as the local youth representative, added that he was open to help in any form for residents.
"We will receive any kind of assistance, especially clothes and toiletries as well as food for daily needs. We also lack pampers for toddlers because there are many children under five, early childhood and elementary school students," said the head of the RW 05 Plt Karang Taruna.
