Lili Pintauli Only Deducted Salary After Violating Ethics, Febri Diansyah: Dewas Actually Have A Choice Asking To Resign From KPK
JAKARTA - Former spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Febri Diansyah admitted that he was saddened by the decision handed down by the KPK Supervisory Board against KPK Deputy Chair Lili Pintauli Siregar.
According to him, Lili was proven to have violated ethics because she abused her influence for personal gain and was in direct contact with the litigants, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial. However, the punishment he received was only in the form of deductions from his basic salary of Rp. 1.85 million per month.
"The KPK leadership was proven to have violated ethics: 1. Abusing influence for personal gain; 2. Directly dealing with parties whose cases were handled by the KPK. But they were only sentenced to a salary cut of IDR 1.85 million / month (40% gapok) from total receipts of more than IDR 80 million / month It's sad," was quoted from his Twitter account @febridiansyah, Monday, August 30.
He considered that Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al actually had another choice of severe sanctions rather than cutting salaries, namely asking Lili to resign from her position. However, the punishment was not carried out.
"The KPK Supervisory Board actually has the option of imposing other SEVERE SANCTIONS as regulated in Article 10 paragraph (4) of the Dewas Regulation No. 2 of 2020, namely: asking the leadership to resign from the KPK. But that was not done," said Febri.
This anti-corruption activist questioned what can be expected from the anti-corruption commission, including the KPK Supervisory Board. Bearing in mind, a number of decisions handed down are not in accordance with the existing facts.
"What else can be expected from the KPK at this time, including the Council which is said to be created to strengthen the KPK," asked Febri.
"In the past, when the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission was proven to have violated the ethics of riding a helicopter, he was also punished lightly. Meanwhile, the TWK policy that clearly violated the rules was said to be insufficient evidence of ethical violations," he added.
Febri also doubts that the KPK Supervisory Board applies strong standards to maintain the integrity of the KPK. This can be seen from the punishment handed down to KPK leaders even if they commit serious violations.
"Dewas cannot stop or ask the leadership to be dismissed," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board found Lili guilty and violated the code of ethics because she was in contact with the litigant, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial.
He was declared to have violated the code of ethics and code of conduct in the form of abusing the influence of the KPK leadership for personal interests and dealing directly with parties whose cases are being handled by the KPK as regulated in Article 4 Paragraph 2 Letter b and Dewas Regulation No. 2 of 2020.
"Try and declare the examinee Lili Pintauli Siregar guilty of violating the code of ethics and behavioral guidelines in the form of abuse of influence as a KPK leader for personal interests and dealing with parties whose cases are being handled," said Tumpak when reading the verdict.
Furthermore, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Board sentenced Lili to severe sanctions in the form of a year's salary deduction.
"Punishing the examinee with severe sanctions in the form of cutting his basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months," said Tumpak.
There are two things that incriminate Lili so that she was sentenced. He is said to have shown no remorse for his actions and did not set an example and role model as a KPK leader.
