Failed To Make It To The Para-shooting Final, Hanik Puji: Thank God, I'm Satisfied With Today's Performance
JAKARTA - Indonesia's representative in the women's para-shooting sport, Hanik Puji Hastuti, had to admit the superiority of her opponents after failing to set foot in the final round of shooting the 10 m air rifle standing R2 Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, Monday.
Even so, the 26-year-old athlete admitted that she was quite satisfied with her first appearance in the biggest multi-event for athletes with disabilities.
"Alhamdulillah, I am satisfied with today's performance. The score I got was in accordance with practice, not much different or even the same. Although I have not been able to penetrate the final round, I am proud that I finally competed smoothly without any problems", said Hanik in a written statement released from Between.
"The opponents in this Paralympics are really tough, especially from Europe, and in Asia, there are China and Iran", she continued.
Hanik was ranked 13th by collecting a total of 614.5 points in the preliminary match which took place at the Asaka Shooting Range.
The athlete who was born in Gunung Kidul, December 22, also admitted that she had learned a valuable lesson from the match, which would later be a provision for her when competing in the ASEAN Para Games in Vietnam next year or the Asian Paragames in China to improve his grades and achievements.
"I took a lot of experience and lessons from this Paralympics, starting from the equipment, timing, position, and others for me to apply in Indonesia", said Hanik.
The bronze medal winner of the 2015 ASEAN Paragames Singapore did not forget to thank all Indonesian people who have supported her during his competition, and hope to perform better in the next event.

"I don't forget to say thank you to NPC Indonesia, the government of course the Ministry of Youth and Sports who has supported and supported me. Thank you also to the Indonesian people who have supported my struggle", said Hanik.
"I apologize for not being able to donate a medal for Indonesia. Hopefully, in the next event I can give my best for Indonesia", she added.
The Indonesian para-shooting coach, Aris Haryadi, admitted that Hanik had performed well, even though there were obstacles on her back that made Hanik less than optimal during the race.
"Thank God Hanik has carried out the R2 match with a score of 614.5. There was a problem when Hanik competed, namely the position of the body that was slightly tilted to the right, which should have been sitting straight", said Aris.
According to Aris, the admonition from the jury also disturbed Hanik's concentration.
"So the jury reprimanded Hanik when she was shooting, slightly made Hanik's concentration fade when shooting in the second series", said Aris.
"In the future, we will try to improve Hanik's position by trying to adjust the equipment, especially the wheelchair, with the hope that in future events there will be no more incidents of jury warnings, which will affect the athletes' focus when competing", Aris added.
