Taylor Swift Seeks Solutions To Her Works
JAKARTA - Taylor Swift wants to create her own record label after she got into a row with Scooter Braun over the master recordings of her works.
In early 2019, the singer who had just released the Lover album was disappointed and emotional after Braunn bought the record label that used to oversee him, Big Machine, as well as ownership rights.
Braun - who oversees a number of well-known artists such as Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen - acquired Big Machine for 300 million US dollars. The deal includes ownership of the pop star's six albums, from his self-titled debut album (2006) to Reputation (2017).
Following the deal, Swift said Braun had perpetrated relentless manipulative intimidation against him. Meanwhile, Bieber defended his manager by calling Swift "unfair", and accused her of encouraging fans to attack her online.
Last month, Swift claimed Braun and Scott Borchetta - the founders of Big Machine - prevented her from performing her old songs at the American Music Awards. On November 15, Swift posted a lengthy post on her Twitter account about the ban.
His statement reads: "Now Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun say I am not allowed to sing old songs on television because they claim it will re-record my music before it is allowed from next year."

Braun then responded. He said, discussing his dispute with Swift to the public would not solve the problem. Braun explained that they live in a toxic world.
"People think social media is a decent place to talk about other people and not have a conversation. And I don't like politicians doing that. I don't like anyone doing that," Braunn said.
"If that makes me a bad guy, I'll be a bad guy for longer, but I don't want to participate."

Previously, Swift planned to record the material which has been lost rights. In an interview with CBS News, Swift confirmed that was the plan.
This idea was first put forward by Kelly Clarkson, who suggested in June that Swift should re-record all the songs she didn't have masters at. Clarkson also suggested that Swift release new artwork for each of the albums so that her fans won't buy the old version anymore.
While not long ago, he was considering starting his own music label again.
"I do think about it (making my own label) every now and then, but if I do, I need to do it with all my energy," he said.
"I know how important it is, when you have someone else's career in your hands, and I know what it feels like when someone isn't being generous."
