Minister Of Manpower: Distribution Of Wage Subsidy Assistance Is Constrained By Bank Differences

SURABAYA - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said that the distribution of wage subsidies from the government to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants was still constrained by bank differences.

"Now 2.1 million (beneficiaries) have been successfully transferred to those who have the State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara) bank," she said while directly observing BSU recipients, namely workers in Soto Cak Har, Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Saturday, August 28.

Ida said that for those who do not have a Himbara bank, an account will be created so that the distribution process can be carried out immediately.

"We have direct dialogue with the 2021 BSU recipients, and this Cak Har employee. Alhamdulillah, we have become BPJS Employment participants. In accordance with the Permenaker, we have met the requirements as BSU recipients," she said.

According to the Minister of Manpower, the average recipient employee admitted that they would use the money for their daily needs.

"Meanwhile, based on experience in 2020, it can be seen that bank differences will result in a fairly long transfer process. And those who do not have a Himbara bank will be created," she said.

Minister of Manpower Ida said that BSU recipients were prioritized for those who had not received assistance from other ministry posts, such as social assistance or assistance for MSME products.

"This government assistance targets people who have not received the assistance," she said.

Meanwhile, Deny Yusyulian, Deputy Regional Director of BPJamsostek, East Java, who accompanied the Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, said that in the first phase, BSU recipients in East Java amounted to 113,668 workers from 7,275 companies.

This Subsidy Assistance Program is an assistance from the government to workers, the recipients are active participants who are registered as participants in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

The criteria for BSU recipients in 2021 are stated in the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2021, among others, that prospective worker who receives BSU funds are Indonesian citizens (WNI), have wages below 3.5 million.

"In addition, they are in the PPKM (Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions) Level 3 and 4 areas according to the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs no 22 and 23 of 2021, and are not recipients of other Social Assistance from the government such as Pre-Employment Cards, Family Hope Programs, and Productive Assistance for Micro Enterprises. The amount of BSU in 2021 is given at once with a total of Rp1 million," he said.

Deny reminds employers to order Jamsostek participation and to always maintain the validity of the data. Workers must also always ensure that they are protected by BPJAMSOSTEK.

"By becoming a BPJAMSOSTEK participant, workers are protected from work risks, and also get added value such as BSU. Ensure orderly participation through the BPJSTKU application and check-in their respective HRD," he said.
