COVID-19 Update As Of August 27: New Cases 12,618, Death Increases By 599 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 184,115 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 12,618 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,056,354 people and 236,317 active cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, August 27.

Today's recovered cases increased by 19,290 cases, bringing the total to 3,689,256 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 599 people and the total was 130,781 people.

The province with the most new cases was in East Java with 1,409 cases and a total of 379,544 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1,349 new cases with a total of 687,711 cases. Central Java has 1,069 new cases and a total of 466,912 cases. Then, North Sumatra has 1,056 new cases and a total of 93,768 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 2,562 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 2,370 recovered cases, North Sumatra with an additional 1,923 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an additional 1,267 recovered cases.

No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 31,509,573.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate is 17.30 percent," he wrote. For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 250,014 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 60,453,555 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 34,121,203 the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
