Determination To Resign, Agung Mozin Hopeless With The Ummat Party
JAKARTA - Agung Mozin said his resignation from the Ummat Party had been approved by the Shura Council. He confirmed that he was determined to quit the party of the star and the golden shield.
"It has been agreed that there is a letter, and I am not resigning in a competitive position, not at all. I am unanimous to leave this party," Agung told VOI, Friday, August 27.
Agung said that his intention was to leave the Ummah Party because he had no hope for this party. Not like what he aspired to at the beginning when he founded the party with Amien Rais.
"I am unanimous in leaving this party. I have no hope, like what the initial ideals were, I am hopeless," he said.
Agung explained that initially the founders wanted to build an Islamic party that put forward Akhlakul Karimah, one of which was deliberation. But lately, he feels that he is no longer suitable for the climate of the party he is leading, waiting for Amien Rais, Ridho Rahmadi.
"The Ummat Party was also born by Mr. Amien and friends, one of them was me. That means I followed A to Z of the party. So I know the dynamics that are going on, how difficult it is for us to find figures. I really appreciate even how we look for a caketum, I am very touched if remember that story. But at the end of the road it suddenly looked like this. So I thought maybe I didn't fit in. I was not in line with the ideals of building an Islamic party," he explained.
So, how did Amien Rais respond when he declared his resignation?
"I don't know, but for sure I have sent my PDF (letter of resignation, ed) to the general chairman. What is certain will have been submitted to Pak Amien because he is still in Jakarta," he explained.
However, Agung emphasized that in the future his communication with Amien Rais would not be disturbed.
"I don't have a problem," he said.
