After US, Australia And UK Warn Of Terror Threat, Bomb Explodes Outside Kabul . Airport

JAKARTA - The United States (US) military reported an explosion outside Kabul Airport, Afghanistan. The explosion occurred after a number of countries declared a major threat of terrorist attacks that provoked public concern.

TOLO News reported, a Taliban official said at least eleven died, including women and children as well as a number of the Taliban's own bodyguards. There is no definite news regarding this event.

What is clear is that the explosion occurred at Abbey Gate where British troops were stationed. Abbey Gate is one of three gates closed after a terrorist threat.

There were reports of gunshots at the scene. Several people were reportedly injured and have been taken to hospital.

A US official told Reuters the blast was carried out by a suicide bomber. President Joe Biden is also known to have been briefed on the development.

Earlier, it was reported that more than 82,000 people had fled Afghanistan after the Taliban seized control of Kabul ten days ago. Australia, the US and the UK then relayed warnings about the threat of terrorism to their citizens.
