Observer Of PAN's Delay In Entering Jokowi's Supporting Coalition Due To The Severity Of Amien Rais

JAKARTA - The Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) Dedi Kurnia Syah, has predicted that the National Mandate Party (PAN) will join the coalition supporting the government.

The reason is, first, the General Chair of PAN Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) has been in intense communication with the government. Second, Zulhas did not have any flaws as a minister in the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

As for PAN, it was too late to enter Jokowi's government, said Dedi, because Amien Rais had been hampered by this.

"The delay in joining PAN was dominated by the severity of Amien Rais at that time," said Dedi, Thursday, August 26.

Currently, continued Dedi, Amien Rais has formed the Ummat Party. Thus, there is no longer any difference of opinion within the PAN body.

"Now there will be no difference in the political conditions in the government. Since the beginning the coalition has been very dominant," he said.

Dedi assessed that joining PAN in the coalition would not affect PKS and Democrats. Because, he said, the PAN opposition did not have a significant impact.

"Including the matter of public sympathy, which has been loyal to the opposition, does not necessarily leave PAN. PAN has a stable voice base, so that the entry of PAN only adds to the solidity of the coalition, does not affect other things," he concluded.
