At The 2021 MHT Event, Anies Baswedan Asks The Media To Maintain Objectivity
JAKARTA - The 47th Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalism Award was held at the Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, August 25. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in his speech emphasized that the media and journalists should maintain objectivity and convey news and data to the public.
On that occasion, Anies virtually appreciated the 47th Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalistic Award event.
"We are proud and grateful, this journalistic award has been running for the 47th time, so don't intervene to prevent it, a pandemic is not a pandemic, the MH Thamrin journalistic award award continues," said Anies.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta further explained that the media face challenges and relies on many things, one of which is speed. Thus, the accuracy of reporting is sometimes a test that makes people refer to confirmation from the Government. This is the reverse and we must be aware of it together, he said.
Anies advised the media to maintain objectivity in their reporting. Moreover, the media has a role to accommodate and convey various information to the public.
The MH Thamrin Journalistic Award, a collaboration between PWI Jaya and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, is a prestigious award given to members of the press who have produced the best journalistic work since the era of DKI Jakarta Governor Ali Sadikin in 1974.
"For those who receive the award, it is still maintained to be able to produce proud journalistic work," said Anies.
Meanwhile, Chairman of PWI Jaya Sayid Iskandarsyah said that this year's MH Thamrin Journalistic Award was attended by hundreds of works, which had been registered through surveys and some were sent directly to PWI Jaya. "The works that are contested are works published or broadcast in the period June 1, 2020-May 31, 2021," he said.
As for the awards given, for the editorial category, Koran Tempo won with the title "Double Disaster Anticipation". Then, the winner in the Text Journalism category was won by Kompas.com with the title "The Dilemma of Riding Capital Public Transportation".
The winner of the Photo Journalism category was won by Liputan6.com, with a work entitled "The Condition of the Poor in One Corner of the Capital".
Trans 7 won the Terrestrial Television Video Journalistic Product category with the title "Waiting for Jakarta to Sink". The Product Category of Streaming Television Mass Video Journalism was won by Antara TV, with the title "Looking at the construction of the Thamrin-Monas MRT Station".
Likewise, the category of Audio Journalism Products was won by RRI Pro 3 with the title "Two Years of Strengthening Households in the Midst of the Capital Pandemic Storm".
The event, which was opened by Anies Baswedan, received support from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), PAL Jaya, Bulog, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Bakrie Amanah, Public Relations Division of Police Headquarters, Djarum Foundation, Astra Agro Lestari, Gajah Tunggal, Pegadaian, Sahabat Steven Musa (SSM), FIF, Indonesia Stock Exchange, JIEP, music promoter Agi Sugiyanto (Pro Active), PT. Anies Baswedan congratulated the winners of the 2021 MHT award. "After you win this award, don't stop trying to win the next awards. Don't be satisfied after winning this award," he said.
