Erick Thohir Wants Perindo's Corruption Case To Be Ended Quickly: This Is An Old Case Before I Became Minister Of SOEs

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir wants the old corruption case in the financial and business management of the Indonesian Fisheries Public Company (Perum Perindo) in 2016-2019 to be quickly resolved.

Erick Thohir added that since emphasizing the principles of good governance and continuing to aggressively instill AHKLAK as a core value in ministries and state-owned companies, his party has continued to intensively involve government financial oversight institutions, such as BPKP, BPK, and also the Attorney General's Office, as well as the KPK, to provide education and financial supervision. country.

"The old Perum Perindo case in 2017 is expected to be resolved as soon as possible. This is important for Perum Perindo, as a strategic SOE company to realize food security in the fisheries sector and also prosper our fishermen," said Erick Thohir.

The Ministry of SOEs provides full support and respects the investigation process carried out by the Attorney General's Office of Perum Perindo so that the performance and image of the SOE company can return to positive.

This was emphasized by Erick Thohir in response to the AGO's recent decision to investigate cases of alleged corruption in Perum Perindo's financial and business management in 2017 which allegedly caused state losses of hundreds of billions of rupiah.

According to the AGO, this case began in 2017 when Perum Perindo issued Medium Term Notes (MTN) or commonly called medium-term debt to obtain funds from selling fishing prospects, which at that time collected MTN funds of IDR 200 billion.

However, most of the funds used for trading working capital have created problems in controlling transactions, which are getting weaker day by day. The transaction continues, although the Perum Perindo partners involved are indicated to have bad credit.

Weak control and careless selection of partners made the trade at that time experience delays in the turnover of working capital and eventually most of it became bad debts with a total value of Rp. 181,196,173,783.

"If there are BUMN employees who know indications of corruption, report me! I am firm, do not tolerate and do not compromise on corrupt practices within BUMN," said Erick Thohir.
