9 Days Searched, Missing Residents Found Dead At Rajegwesi Beach Banyuwangi
BANYUWANGI - Residents and fishermen found rotting bodies in the waters of Rajegwesi Beach, Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi Regency.
The body has been identified and named Eko Prasetyo (19). The victim previously disappeared mysteriously after dropping off two of his colleagues in the Baduk Beach area, Saturday, August 14.
"It has been recognized by the family and it has been confirmed that the victim is named Eko, who was previously missing," said the Banyuwangi Basarnas Post Coordinator, Wahyu Setya Budi, Tuesday, August 24.
Wahyu said Eko was found 9 days after being declared missing. The victim was found by fishermen floating near the beach.
The body was then brought to the beach. After that the victim's family recognized him.
It was previously reported that Eko mysteriously disappeared after dropping off two of his colleagues in the Baduk Beach area, Saturday, August 14 at noon.
The youth boat was found. However, Eko's whereabouts are unknown.
At that time, Eko after escorting two of his colleagues, namely Ateng and Icuk, installed FADs in the Baduk beach area.
Eko then said goodbye to refuel the ship which was running out.
"The victim said goodbye to refilling fuel and two of her co-workers were staying on top of the FADs," said the Banyuwangi Basarnas Post Coordinator, Wahyu Setya Budi, Monday, August 16.
According to the victim's colleague, strangely, Eko should have searched for fuel at Rajegwesi beach. Instead, he steered his ship towards the coast of Teluk Hijau.
Several hours of waiting, Eko never returned. "Two of his colleagues reported and asked for help when a boat passed by," he said.
The boat and engine driven by Eko were first found on the rocks of the Teluk Hijau area.
