Inspired By Real Events, Cyanide Series Presents A More Complex Plot
JAKARTA - The WeTV streaming service will feature a new original series entitled Cyanide. Starring a series of well-known actors and actresses, this series is inspired by the events that had a scene in 2016.
Cyanide tells the story of several women who are best friends. Two of them, Amelia (Jihane Almira) and Jenny (Aghniny Haque) have a crush on each other. Unfortunately, Amelia is married to David (Rio Dewanto).
One day, they gathered at a cafe. Amelia who drank coffee containing cyanide died on the spot and Jenny was accused of being the killer. Jenny instead accuses David of being the mastermind behind Amelia's death. This mystery reveals their secret and relationship.
The unusual synopsis makes the Cyanide series a must-see. Aghniny as the main character admitted that this could give a new color to WeTV.
“Series Indonesia can provide new colors and bold stories. Thriller action too. Not an ordinary topic but very complex," said Aghniny Haque at a virtual press conference today, August 24.
This was also agreed by Jihane Almira, who admitted that it was his first time playing a same-sex character. "I can add to my acting record too," said Jihane.
Raam Punjabi and Sridhar Jetty as the creators also believe this story is different from other stories. "Cyanide is a crime thriller series with romance, friendship and human values."
Besides Aghniny Haque and Jihane Almira, Sianida is also played by Rio Dewanto, Nasya Marcella, Michelle Joan, Samuel Rizal, and Mike Lucock.
Considering a number of great names in it, Cyanida will present a storyline that is able to attract the audience. The series consists of 12 episodes and premieres starting Wednesday, August 25 exclusively on WeTV and iflix.
