The Police Arrested Anti-Mask Activist For Attacking Banyuwangi District Court Judge
BANYUWANGI - The judge who presided over the trial of M Yunus Wahyudi, the defendant in the hoax case regarding COVID-19 officially reported to the Banyuwangi Police.
The judges who handled Yunus' case were Khamozaro Waruwu, Philip Pangalila, and Yustisiana.
"We reported the incident on August 19, 2021, regarding Yunus's actions to degrade the dignity and authority of the court", said the head of the Banyuwangi District Court, Nova Flory Bunda, Monday, August 23.
He said that Yunus' action, known as the anti-mask activism, was a violation and injuring the authority of the court by attacking the judge after the trial.
"Hopefully it will be followed up, hopefully, Yunus' actions will also be tried, so that it can be a lesson to other communities", he said.
Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Police Chief Nasrun Pasaribu confirmed that his party had received the Banyuwangi District Court's report regarding the case of assaulting a judge by Yunus.
"We have received a report and we are following it up, that there are Articles 207, 212 which are applied in the Criminal Code", he said.
