SULTRA - A young man named Jendri Kombong (19) died when he was swept away by the waves at Bahari Beach, North Kolaka Regency (Kolut), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aris Sofingi said that the officer received the incident report from one of the victims' families on Sunday, August 22 at around 22:15 central Indonesia time. There are three people who were reported missing while swimming at the location of the case.

The three victims are reported to have been swimming on the beach since Sunday, August 22 at 15.30 central Indonesia time in preparation for one of the victims who will participate in the selection of TNI members.

Then, at 17.30 central Indonesia time, while training, the three victims were dragged by the waves, two victims managed to survive by trying to reach the shore, while another victim was dragged by the waves and died.

After receiving the report, Aris continued, the Kolaka SAR Post rescue team was dispatched to the accident scene (LKK) with a distance of about 218 km from the Kolaka SAR Post.

"Departed at around 22.35 central Indonesia time," said Aris.

However, when they were about to carry out a SAR operation in LKK, at 01.24 central Indonesia time, the SAR team received information from the family of the victim named Kasman who reported that at 00.00 central Indonesia time the victim had been found dead on Bahari Beach.

Basarnas said that of the three victims, two of them survived, namely A (17) and Abraham (35), while another person named Jendri Kombong Datu (19) was declared dead in the incident.
