Pamekasan Satpol PP Members Who Fight Over City Rice After Independence Ceremony Will Be Sanctioned

PAMEKASAN - The Pamong Praja Police Unit (Satpol PP) of the Pamekasan Regency Government, East Java confirmed that it would impose sanctions on two of its members who were fighting at the Independence Day ceremony.

"This action is very shameful, because apart from both being state servants who should be role models for the community, their actions were also carried out in a public place that was watched by many people," said Head of Pamekasan Satpol PP, Kusairi, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 20.

The Satpol PP has also carried out an examination report (BAP) to the two members of the Satpol PP who were fighting in a public place to the two members who were fighting, namely the initials T and I.

The BAP was carried out directly by the Head of Investigation, Ainur Rahman, and the results stated that the two were even involved in a fight over the issue of the boxed rice distributed by the organizing committee for the flag ceremony on the 76th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Kusairi said that at that time, the committee distributed rice boxes to the ceremony participants who took part in the flag ceremony at Nagara Bhakti Mandhepa Agung Ronggosukowati Pamekasan Field.

One member of the Satpol PP brought more than a box of rice, and was reprimanded by his friend, because the other members in the field had not yet had their share.

The members who were reprimanded immediately became furious, and a fight broke out at that location as well.

When the fight took place, the other ceremony participants were still at the location, even some students from a number of educational institutions also witnessed firsthand the incident that should not have happened.

The fight between the two stopped after being dispersed by TNI members from the 0826 Pamekasan Kodim.

"As a leader in this OPD, I am certainly very ashamed, because apart from being witnessed by many people, and taking place in public places, the fight between the two also occurred when this country was commemorating the seconds of the proclamation of this nation's independence," said Kusairi.

In addition to injuring the good name of the institution, namely the Pamekasan Regency Government Satpol PP as a regional regulation enforcement agency in this district, the case of fighting Satpol PP members in public places has also injured the sanctity of the Indonesian nation state which is holding an Independence Anniversary ceremony.

Previously, the Regent of Pamekasan, Baddrut Tamam, admitted that he deeply regretted the unfortunate incident of the two members of the Pamekasan Satpol PP. He asked the head of the institution to provide firm guidance to the person concerned.
