Police Arrest 2 Outsourcing Employees Of KAI Perpetrators Of Iron Theft Of Railway Tracks In Malang
MALANG - Malang Police Team arrested two people with the initials FPP (31) and MA (31) perpetrators of theft of railroad iron in Malang Regency, East Java. Malang Police Chief AKBP Bagoes Wibisono said the arrest of the two people after receiving a report from the Railroad Maintenance Unit "There are reports that FPP and MA have stolen iron and steel in the form of railroad tracks. Both are working together to steal railroad tracks," said Bagoes, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 20. Malang Police when carrying out their actions in the Sengon garden area, Adirejo Village, Kepanjen District. From the suspect's hands, Bagoes said, a number of evidences were secured in the form of 10 iron rods of railroad tracks with a length of about 1.5 meters each, one pickup truck, LPG gas cylinders, oxygen gas cylinders, and steel cutting welding. "After receiving the report, the Kepanjen Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately went to location. Our members caught the perpetrator red-handed," said the police chief.
The two perpetrators are outsourced employees at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). The Malang Police is currently developing an investigation into the theft of the railroad tracks. It is suspected that there were other perpetrators who participated in the theft with the weight. "We have secured it for a more in-depth investigation," he said. Both face a maximum prison sentence of 7 years.
