Valued At IDR 672.9 Billion And Given Number 9, What Will Tammy Abraham Bring To Rome?
JAKARTA - Tammy Abraham completed a 40 million euro (IDR 672.9 billion) move from Chelsea to Roma on Tuesday. The 23-year-old is very excited about his future with the Giallorossi.
Abraham became the second English player in AS Roma's squad, following Chris Smalling's move from Manchester United in 2019.
Last season, Abraham was part of Chelsea's Champions League-winning squad. He is the Blues' top scorer with 12 goals, level with the arrival of expensive signing Timo Werner.
The player from southeast London has signed a five-year contract with Roma and will wear the No. 9 for the Capital club, previously worn by Edin Dzeko before he left for Inter.
"You can feel when a club really wants you - and Roma immediately expressed their interest", Abraham said in an interview with Roma's official media.
"Roma is a club that deserves to fight for titles and trophies. I have experience winning major trophies and I want to be in that competition again - so I want to help this team get them and get Roma to where they belong".
"It's a great honor to wear the No. 9 at this club and I can't wait to get started and help the team".
Despite being only 23 years old, Abraham has a wealth of experience, scoring over 100 goals and playing in more than 200 games for club and country in his career.
His speed and accuracy in front of goal are just some of his strengths on the pitch, and this was evident during his loan spells with Bristol City and Aston Villa.
Abraham has won the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup with Chelsea, while he was a member of the Aston Villa squad that was promoted to the Premier League in 2019.
