KPK Reminds Ministry Of Social Affairs Social Assistance In The Form Of Goods Not To Be Continued
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the Ministry of Social Affairs that social assistance in the form of goods would no longer be given to the public in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The provision of social assistance in the form of goods called the KPK is prone to irregularities.
The Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK, Pahala Nainggolan, said that this warning was given after the alleged bribery case for the procurement of COVID-19 social assistance in the Jabodetabek area that ensnared former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara.
"Our monitoring activities (KPK, ed) focus on handling the pandemic. First, which is quite significant after the Ministry of Social Affairs case two days later, as far as I remember, the KPK wrote a letter to the Ministry of Social Affairs. There are two things, first, the social assistance for goods models should not be continued", Pahala said at a press conference. Meanwhile, the second thing that must be done by the Ministry of Social Affairs is to integrate the data of social assistance recipients to prevent duplicate data.
"Because (at the Ministry of Social Affairs, ed) there are three data holders. First, the Directorate General of PFM of the Ministry of Social Affairs holds the PKH (Family Hope Program) data, the second the Directorate General of Social Security, the Ministry of Social Affairs holds data called non-cash food assistance, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Affairs holds DTKS data", said Pahala.

He said that the KPK had always reminded senior officials who held the post of Minister of Social Affairs to combine the data to prevent leakage. Moreover, the anti-corruption commission believes there must be double data from each director-general in the ministry.
"We are sure, in the data itself there are doubles in PKH, for PKH and BPNT there are more doubles, then PKH, BPNT, and DTKS there are more doubles", explained Pahala.
"We proved that in 2020 when we went to Papua, we found multiple types (data, ed) and doubles between types (data, ed)", he concluded.
