JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is committed to providing social protection (perlinsos) for the community, especially in the current pandemic situation. This explanation was conveyed by the Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio Kacaribu.

According to him, starting from the second half of 2021, the state has designed a number of social assistance (bansos) for the community, ranging from providing benefits for pregnant women to the elderly or seniors.

"For this social welfare, we apply it throughout our lives starting from the time we are in the womb, there is even a program for seniors, because this is also a form of our readiness to live with a pandemic, or a pandemic that then turns into an endemic," he said in a webinar on Wednesday, August 18. .

So what are the forms of social protection that are then included in the social assistance scheme?

The first is the Family Hope Program (PKH) which is targeted to reach 10 million families. In this program, pregnant women and early childhood are given social assistance of Rp. 3 million per year. Then also elementary school students (SD) were given Rp 900,000 per year, 1.5 million for SMP, 2 million for high school. Then, the disabled and the elderly are IDR 2.4 million per year.

Second, the Basic Food Card Program which reaches 1.8 million families with a benefit of Rp. 200,000 per month (for 12 months).

Third, electricity discounts for 32.6 million households with a total budget allocation of Rp9.49 trillion.

Fourth, Cash Social Assistance (BST) which targets 10 million families with a benefit of Rp. 300,000 per month (for six months).

Fifth, Bulog rice assistance with a total recipient of 28.8 million families with a total of 10 kg of rice per family.

Sixth, the PPKM Sembako Program which targets 5.9 million families with a value received of Rp. 200,000 per month (for six months).

Seventh, the Pre-Employment Card Program with an estimated recipient of 5.6 million people whose budget is provided by the government of Rp. 21.2 trillion.

Eight, workers' wage subsidy assistance of Rp. 8.8 trillion which was distributed to 8.8 million workers with benefits worth Rp. 1 million each.

And the last one is internet quota assistance/subsidy to 38.1 million recipients with a budget of Rp8.53 trillion.
