Introducing Rian Eka! Exposed To Radicalism Since High School, Returns To The Republic Of Indonesia During Indonesia's Independence Day
SUKABUMI - A young man from Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Rian Eka Septiawan (21) took an oath of allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) on the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Tuesday, August 17.
Rian was exposed to radical ideas when he was educated at a school in Palabuhanratu. Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Dedy Darmawansyah said Rian's return to the Republic of Indonesia was due to various approaches and deradicalization programs so far.
"Finally Rian can return to his correct understanding after being exposed to radicalism since he was in high school in Palabuhanratu," said Dedy in Sukabumi, Tuesday, August 17.
Deradicalization program according to Dedy is effective in returning someone on the right path. In fact, they admit, the notion they have been following is deviant, not in accordance with the teachings of any religion.
"Anyone can be exposed to radical ideas, therefore all parties must be aware of it, especially parents so that they can monitor their children's socializing activities outside the home, like Rian, he admitted that he was exposed to this deviant ideology when he was in high school," said Dedy.
The Sukabumi Police gave assistance to Rian as a form of appreciation for his attitude. In line with Dedy, Rian said that he decided to take an oath and express his love for the Republic of Indonesia and was committed not to return to this misleading notion.
"I am committed to defending and protecting the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. I also thank the Sukabumi Police for providing guidance through the deradicalism program since being exposed to radicalism when I was still in high school," said Rian.
