Due To A Deep Sleep, Employees' Cellphones And Motorbikes Have Been Taken Away By Thieves

BEKASI – The theft at a restaurant was caught on CCTV. According to the Bekasi Metro Police, the incident occurred at a food stall in the Grand Cikarang City Housing, Karang Raharja Village, North Cikarang District.

"Officers are following up by conducting searches, hopefully the perpetrators will be caught soon," said Head of the Bekasi Metro Police, Kompol Rahmad Sujatmiko, quoting Antara, Monday, August 16.

Rahmad explained, his party began to move after receiving a report from the owner of the food stall on Friday (13/8) at 02.00 WIB with evidence of surveillance camera footage.

The officers then followed up the report by visiting the scene and asking for information from a number of witnesses and victims of the theft.

"We have asked for information regarding the incident, including checking CCTV footage," he explained.

Rahmad also appealed to the public to be more alert to potential criminal acts, especially for motorcycle users to always use double locks.

Previously circulated video of the theft of motorcycles and mobile phones in a food stall. In the one-minute video, two shop employees can be seen sleeping soundly on a lesehan dining area. The thief who wore a gray jacket entered the food stall area.

Riki, 21, a shop employee who is also a victim, said that the theft occurred when he had just returned from shopping at the market and put his groceries away.

He admitted that he was tired and fell asleep and forgot to lock the door of the food stall or the rolling door.

"When I came from the market, I put away my groceries, I immediately fell asleep, I knew I fell asleep right away," he said.

He only realized that his shop had a thief when the shop owner arrived at 06.00 WIB and asked for a motorbike that was usually parked in the shop.

"The boss asked for the motorbike, I saw that the motorbike wasn't there, I was surprised that I immediately looked back at my cellphone and my friend's was also gone," he said.

Seeing this condition, the two immediately checked the CCTV footage and found that two unknown people had entered their work area. One perpetrator waited outside and another entered to take two cell phones and a motorcycle.

"Usually it is fully locked, but because of my position I was very sleepy, so I forgot to lock it. In the end, my boss and I reported this incident to the police," he said.
