5 Million Doses Of Sinovac Vaccine Are Coming Today
JAKARTA - Indonesia received its 37th round of vaccination supplies today. This afternoon, 5 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine have arrived in finished form at Soekarno Hatta Airport.
In his introduction, Assistant Operations to the National Armed Force (TNI) Commander Maj. Gen. Syaruddin said that the total number of vaccines that have come to Indonesia so far is around 190 million doses, both in bulk and ready-made vaccines.
There are already four types of vaccines that have arrived, namely the Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, and Moderna brands. In August, another Pfizer vaccine will arrive. All of these vaccines have received an emergency use permit from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).
"The arrival of this vaccine confirms that the Government is working hard to meet the needs of the COVID-19 vaccine stock to be used in the national vaccination program", said Syafruddin in the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, Monday, August 16.

Syafruddin said the government has a target of carrying out 2 million doses of vaccination per day starting this month. To date, more than 53 million people have received the first dose of vaccination.
"That means around 25 percent of the vaccination target or target of 208 million Indonesians to be able to build herd immunity", he said.
On that occasion, Syafruddin said that the TNI and the National Police (Polri) had also received a direct mandate from President Joko Widodo to help carry out national vaccinations.
He also asked the public to continue to adhere to health protocols. "What should not be forgotten is the discipline in health protocols by implementing health protocols, especially wearing masks and obeying the mobility restriction rules set by the government", he said.
Previously, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government would receive hundreds of millions of vaccine stocks by the end of this year. Thus, the implementation of vaccination can be more spread throughout the region.
"From August to December there will be more than 300 million doses of vaccine. It is time for us to work hard together to carry out this vaccination," he said.
