JAKARTA - Closing and Odd-Even Schemes Applicable During Independence Ceremony, Invited Guests Are Asked To Do This
The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya will implement a road closure scheme in the State Palace area during the Independence Ceremony, Tuesday, August 17. In addition, the odd-even rule also applies.
"We will close the route around the Merdeka Palace starting from Harmoni, Veteran Tiga then Gambir which leads to the palace and the Senayan Horse statue, we sterilize it so it doesn't interfere with the state ceremony. Besides that, odd or even events will still apply," said the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Monday, August 16.
With this scheme, Sambodo asked all invited guests who would attend the Independence event to show proof of invitation to the members on duty.
So, later the invited guests can pass. In addition, they will not be penalized for violating the applicable odd-even rules.
"Please show it to the officer so that we can give the discretion not to get odd or even," said Sambodo.
On the other hand, in securing the Independence Ceremony, Sambodo said around hundreds of members would be deployed. They did not guard the entire area of the State Palace but also escorted all parties directly involved in the series of events.
"The ceremony includes escorting the Paskibraka, the elements involved in the ceremony. More or less for all of Jakarta alone, we have deployed approximately 300 members in all lanes," said Sambodo.
