The Highest Active Case Of COVID-19 In West Java, Followed By Central Java And East Java

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health said the number of active COVID-19 cases in Indonesia fell by 10,770 to 384,807 cases on Sunday, August 15, but West Java was ranked first with the most active cases.

"Of the number of active cases, West Java Province ranks first with the highest number of active cases, namely 64,154 cases, followed by Central Java with 34,519 cases and East Java with 34,123 cases," said a press release from the Ministry of Health reported by Antara.

The Ministry of Health noted that the addition of positive COVID-19 cases today reached 20,813 cases throughout Indonesia, contributed by Central Java and East Java in the top position with 4,144 cases and 1,725 cases, respectively.

West Java is in third place with the addition of 1,299 cases. North Sumatra and DKI Jakarta in the fourth and fifth positions with the addition of 1,246 cases and 1,182 cases, respectively.

Furthermore, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 was 1,222 cases. From these data, the highest number of patients died was in Central Java with 309 cases. Then followed by East Java in the second position with 230 patients died.

Then there is DI Yogyakarta with 81 patients died. East Kalimantan and Lampung were in fourth and fifth positions with 63 and 55 patients died, respectively.

The number of specimens examined on Sunday was 159,178 specimens with a positivity rate of 18.31 percent.
