JAKARTA - The Papuan Regional Police will conduct odd-even trials for vehicles that will pass on certain roads. This trial was carried out ahead of the implementation of PON XX which will be carried out in four regions.

He explained that the main purpose of the trial implementation of odd-even implementation for vehicles that will pass on certain roads is to anticipate the implementation of PON XX because the existing roads are still limited. Monday, August 16 on several roads for Jayapura City, namely Jalan Ahmad Yani, Kelapa Dua Entrop and Jalan Abepura-Sentani. Meanwhile, in Jayapura Regency, namely Jalan Sentani-Balai Trans, the time is divided from 08.00-10. 00 WIT, 15.00-17. 00 WIT and 18.00-20. 00 WIT. Inspector General Fakhiri admitted that the trial will last until August 31 and it is hoped that the community will comply, considering it is possible that during the implementation of PON XX, a number of roads will experience congestion. PON XX is scheduled to take place on October 2-15 in four regencies and cities in Papua, namely Jayapura, Merauke and Timika. The odd-even implementation is also to reduce the rate of development of COVID-19 in areas with heavy traffic flow.
