At-Tin Grand Mosque Has Not Opened Worship Activities, Still Waiting For DKM's Decision
JAKARTA - Regulations regarding the adjustment of the Implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) have been enacted. However, the At-Tin Grand Mosque, East Jakarta, has not yet reopened worship activities.
Head of the At-Tin Great Mosque Worship Division, Karnali, said that his party was still waiting for a decision from the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) to reopen worship activities.
"Most likely it will be opened just waiting for permission," said Karnali as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 11.
Karnali added that during the PPKM level 4 period which was implemented at the end of July 2021, until now there were no worship activities at the At-Tin Great Mosque.
He said the decision to reopen worship activities at the At-Tin Grand Mosque would be announced as soon as possible.
"Probably next Friday because we are still waiting for the leadership. Maybe a day or two there will be an announcement," said Karnali.
Previously, Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria welcomed the central government's decision to extend PPKM Level 4 in DKI Jakarta until August 16, 2021 and hoped that there would be a significant reduction in the pandemic situation in the capital.
Even though it was extended, Riza said the government had relaxed by starting the operation of malls with a 25 percent capacity limitation and limited opening hours. In addition, the opening of houses of worship with a capacity limit of 25 percent and/or a maximum of only 20 people.
"We ask the public to stay at home as the best place and implement the 5M Health protocol in a disciplined and responsible manner," he said.
