Experience Body Shaming, Lifter Amel: If It's Constantly Discussed I'm Annoyed Because It's Too Excited
JAKARTA - The news about Nurul Akmal, an Indonesian female lifter who appeared at the Tokyo Olympics, has gone viral in mass media and social media.
This happened after an irresponsible person carried out body-shaming when the athlete who is familiarly called Amel took a bouquet of flowers during a welcoming ceremony at the VIP Building of Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
The voice of the irresponsible person was recorded in a video from the Instagram account @timindonesiaofficial which broadcast live the welcoming ceremony.
The video clip was uploaded by several social media accounts to become viral because the expression is synonymous with body shaming or an expression of contempt for other people's body shapes.
However, Amel has a very airy soul. She thought the words were just a joke and forgave the person. She even asked not to exaggerate anymore.
