As It Turns Out, Chris Evans Hates Spider-Man
JAKARTA - Captain America actor Chris Evans recently revealed that he wants to play the character Spider-Man. However, there is one thing that makes him hate his teammates in Avengers. What is that?
While it is still hard for us to imagine anyone else playing the Captain America character, Chris Evans has even revealed that he would love playing his favorite Marvel hero: Spider-Man.
Arguably, as the most popular Marvel character ever created, Spider-Man has an impressive legacy. From comic books to video games, even up to 3 different sets of cinematic interpretations exist.
Spider-Man is Evans's favorite superhero. But there is one thing the Avengers actor doesn't like about the spider man.
Speaking to SCMP, Evans revealed that even though his favorite childhood character was Spider-Man, he had no desire to play Peter Parker because he hated his mask.
"I love Captain America, but Spider-Man is my childhood hero. I would love to do scenes like sticking myself to the side of a building and trying to jump from one building to another," said Evans, launching Heroic Hollywood, Tuesday, 16 June.
"But I hate wearing a Spider-Man mask. I'm so claustrophobic, and I doubt if I can wear a full suit and mask like that for hours a day on a set.
"I much prefer my Captain America outfit, I think it's cooler!"
This Avengers actor has strong reasons for his statement considering the Spider-Man actor; Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire had to spend a lot of time wearing masks. What's unquestionable is, Spider-Man's costume and mask could potentially become a den of germs after a few hours of use on set.
Will Chris Evans play Peter Parker in an alternate universe? Looks like that chance is slim. Captain America and Spider-Man last appeared together in Avengers: Endgame.
