PPKM Level 4 In Palembang Extended Until August 9, Mayor Harnojoyo Invites Residents To Immediate Vaccination
PALEMBANG - The Palembang City Government, South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) has extended the status of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) until August 9, 2021.
“Currently the city government is continuing PPKM Level 4 for the third phase until August 9. We ask all parties to comply with health protocols," said Palembang Mayor Harnojoyo in Palembang, Antara, Tuesday, August 3.
He explained that the extension of PPKM Level 4 refers to the instructions of the central government, for regions and 9 districts where the spread of COVID-19 is still high.
To break the chain of spread of COVID-19, the Mayor of Palembang invited his citizens to be enthusiastic about vaccinating. His party also continues to emphasize the application of health protocols in the midst of residents' activities.
The Mayor believes that with the enthusiasm of the community to vaccinate, it can break the chain of the spread of COVID-19 in Palembang City.
Based on data from the South Sumatra Health Service, Palembang City is still in the red zone category as of August 3, 2021.
The latest data shows that there are 46,214 suspected cases of COVID-19 in this city, while for people without symptoms (OTG) there are 24,075 people and positive cases reaching 25,370 cases.
Apart from Palembang, there are eight other regencies/cities in South Sumatra Province which are still high risk zones for COVID-19.
These areas include the districts of Lahat, Muara Enim, Musi Rawas, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir, and Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan. Furthermore, Lubuk Linggau City and Prabumulih City are also still listed in the red zone category.
"Hopefully, with our efforts, we can break the chain of the spread of the Corona Virus," he said.
