Police Speaks Not To Delegate Unlawful Killing Suspects: One Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - The National Police stated that one of the reasons for not transferring two suspects in the unlawful killing case was because one of them was exposed to COVID-19. Therefore, the transfer was delayed.
"One of the suspects has COVID-19," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono in his statement, Monday, August 2.
The suspect and member of the Polda Metro Jaya who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 is F. Currently, he is undergoing the isolation process.
"For the transfer of stage 2, we are waiting for one of the suspects to be negative," said Argo.
In addition, suspect F, who is the shooter of Laskar FPI, was tested positive for COVID-19 on August 1. In fact, at that time he would be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office.
"Yesterday, August 1, the PCR was carried out for today's phase 2. The results were positive," said Argo.
It was previously reported that the Police had also mentioned that the two suspects with the initials F and Y had not yet been handed over because the Prosecutor's Office had not yet determined the location of the trial.
"Not yet (handed over). We are still coordinating the venue for the trial, either in West Java or in Jakarta, considering that there are many witnesses in Jakarta," Argo said in his statement, Thursday, July 22.
In addition, Argo also mentioned the reason behind the fact that he had not clearly explained the full identities of the suspects. However, he said it would be disclosed transparently in due course.
"Later, when stage 2 is complete, I will not give full details (the identities of the 2 police officers who shot the FPI Troops)," said Argo.
