Mahram Miniseries For Najwa, The Troubled Hijaber Looking For The Right Match
JAKARTA - In the midst of the PPKM program which continues to be extended in order to suppress the spread of the Covid virus as an opportunity for streaming services to continue to grow, Genflix released the Mahram series for Najwa. This work is the first religious miniseries from the creative house which previously gave birth to phenomenal miniseries, Asya Story and Friendshit.
Mahram for Najwa, which is adapted from a popular serial on Wattpad, explores the love story of a quadrilateral from Najwa – Fadlan – Jihan – Faiz. The story begins when Fadlan, who is proposing to Jihan, doesn't expect to meet Najwa, his first love, on the show. The conflict is even more complicated because Jihan is Najwa's best friend, plus Najwa has also just been proposed by Faiz.
As the creator of this miniseries, Ichwan Persada revealed his challenges in adapting the story that has been read more than 3.7 million times on Wattpad. “There are a number of changes we have made which of course have been approved by the author, Ameliasria_. The most radical thing is that in the novel the character of Najwa is depicted in a veil, while in our miniseries she wears a hijab like most Muslim women in this country. We also sharpen the conflicts of the four characters.
Then the character of Faiz who is not explored in the novel, here we give more portions. Of the 3 series/miniseries that we previously worked on, perhaps “Mahram for Najwa” has the most dynamic and dramatic conflict,” he explained after the virtual premiere of the Mahram for Najwa series, Friday, July 30.
Mahram For Najwa is co-produced by Indonesia Sinema Persada in collaboration with E-Motion Entertainment. This music label is also increasingly sticking its nails in the entertainment industry, not just in the realm of music anymore. Likewise, specifically at Mahram For Najwa, E-Motion Entertainment "lent" the song "Back to Me" from Ben Sihombing, which was asked to be the theme song.
Ichwan admitted that directing the miniseries Mahram For Najwa was a challenge for him. “From the beginning we realized that we were targeting female audiences and hijabers, so we try to make the story as close as possible to them, with the feelings they experience. We believe this is a story that can happen to anyone, so it's easy to get emotionally attached. Hopefully in the future, God willing, it can also become a favorite spectacle for the Indonesian people, "he said.
The Mahram For Najwa miniseries will premiere on July 30, 2021 at 19.00 WIB. The first 6 episodes will air every Friday and Sunday at the same time on Genflix.
