The Asabri Corruption Case Still Continues, The Attorney General's Office Examines 3 Staff Of Benny Tjokrosaputro
JAKARTA - The investigation team of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has again examined three of Benny Tjokrosaputro's staff as witnesses related to allegations of corruption in the management of finance and investment funds at PT Asabri.
"Witnesses are being examined regarding the deepening of the involvement of other parties," said the Head of the AGO Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, July 30.
The three witnesses examined were the initials LA, JI and RM. On Thursday, July 29 yesterday, investigators also examined one witness, namely HS as Finance Director of PT Rimo Internasional Lestari Tbk regarding the deepening of the involvement of other parties.
Recently, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office has announced ten suspected investment manager corporations (MI), namely PT IIM, PT MCM, PT PAAM, PT RAM, PT VAM, PT ARK, PT OMI, PT MAM, PT AAM, and PT CC.
Investigators have also handed over the suspect's responsibilities and evidence or delegating detention II to two Asabri suspects, namely Benny Tjokrosaputro and Heru Hidayat. Both are also suspects in the PT Asuransi Jiwasraya case.
The handover of the second stage of the two suspects follows seven other suspects who have been transferred to stage II at the end of May 2021.
The other seven suspects in the case that cost the state finances amounting to Rp22.78 billion are the former President Director of ASABRI, namely Major General (Ret.) Adam Rachmat Damiri and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Sonny Widjaya.
While the rest are ASABRI Finance Director 2008-2014 Bachtiar Effendi, 2013-2014 and 2015-2019 ASABRI Director Hari Setiono, 2012-2017 ASABRI Investment Division Head Ilham W Siregar, PT Prima Network President Director Lukman Purnomosidi, and Jakarta Issuer Investor Relations Director Jimmy Sutopo.
Leonard added that because the suspect and the evidence had been transferred to the East Jakarta District Attorney, after the indictment was curtailed, the trial would immediately take place.
"The indictment as released by us regarding the submission of phase II is being prepared by the Public Prosecutor. Furthermore, because it has been handed over to the East Jakarta District Attorney, the handler, then the news regarding the trial is with the East Jakarta Kajari and Head of the Jakarta Attorney General's Office," said Leonard.
