Like Revenge, Longing Must Be Paid Completely Shown At Two World Film Festivals

JAKARTA - Films Like Revenge, Longing Must Be Paid Completely by Edwin will be screened at two well-known film festivals. First, premiere at the 2021 Locarno Film Festival. Then, it will premiere at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

For screening at the 2021 Locarno Film Festival, the film is in the Concorso internazionale category in Sweden from 4-14 August. While at TIFF, this film competes in the Contemporary World Cinema session.

Through social media, the production house of Palari Films shared this good news while announcing the line-up of international film and poster players.

Some of the names participating in the film Like Dendam, Rindu Must be Paid Completely are Marthino Lio, Ladya Cheryl, Sal Priadi, Reza Rahadian, and Ratu Felisha.

Then there are Kevin Ardilova, Lukman Sardi, Eduwart Manalu, Djenar Maesa Ayu, Kiki Narendra, Piet Pagau, Yudi Ahmad Tajudin, Ayu Laksmi, Elly D. Luthan, and Christine Hakim and Cecep Arif Rahman.

Adapted from a story by Eka Kurniawan, Like Revenge, Rindu Must be Paid Completely, tells the story of Ajo Kawir (Marthino Lio), a hero who is not afraid to die. He wants to fight on the basis of his secret - impotent. When fighting a woman named Iteung (Ladya Cheryl), Ajo is battered but he has feelings for Iteung.

The process of making this film was carried out for five years, so there were many steps they took to get to the premiere and show in two world film festivals.

Through a virtual press conference today, July 30, producer Meiske Taurisia explained some of the challenges the team faced, such as filming that was cut short by the pandemic to the point of draining stamina.

Apart from this, the production process has been completed and it is hoped that Like Revenge, Rindu Must be Paid Completely, audiences in Indonesia can see it soon.
