Commission II Of The DPR Supports The Minister Of Home Affairs To Form A COVID-19 Tracing Team From The Regional Government
JAKARTA - Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives supports the step of Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian who asked the Regional Government (Pemda) to form a COVID-19 tracing team or team to detect people who have contact with COVID-19 patients. The tracing team is planned to be taken from high school graduates and the budget will come from the APBD of each regional government.
"The tracing team formed by the Regional Government will be able to help the government identify and quickly determine whether those who have come into contact with COVID-19 patients are exposed or not," said member of Commission II DPR RI faction PAN Guspardi to reporters, Friday, July 30.
According to him, the team can also speed up the discovery of patients or asymptomatic people (OTG) who are not aware that they are infected with COVID-19. Also, it will open up new job opportunities because it involves high school graduates.
"Before it is deployed to the community, of course, a brief training on this tracking system and method must be carried out," said Guspardi. This PAN politician assesses that tracing is very important to determine government policies in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. If the number of tracing is expanded, said Guspardi, it can increase the accuracy of sampling and data.
"That way the handling is also faster and maximum. Also massive tracing will have implications for people who are exposed. If the data is clear, in the end people who are exposed can be treated quickly," he said.
Guspardi hopes that local governments in all regencies/cities and provinces can immediately realize the formation of tracing teams in their respective regions.
"The Minister of Home Affairs, as the supervisor of regional heads, must also supervise the implementation in the field," he said. Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian stated that he wanted to see if any regional government had succeeded in forming a close contact tracing team for COVID-19.
Because, according to him, the task of tracing needs to be supported by the formation of a special team that only has the task of tracking transmission.
"The tracking was carried out by tracing people who had close contact with patients who were confirmed positive for COVID-19. I would like to see later which local government has succeeded in doing so," said Tito, quoted from a written statement, Tuesday, July 27.
