Haven't Decided On The Attitude About Joko Tjandra's 'Discount'
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) has not yet determined the next steps regarding the decision of the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) which cut the sentence of Joko Soegiarto Tjandra alias Joko Tjandra for the bribery case of handling the Supreme Court's fatwa (MA) and the abolition of the red notice. The Kejari reasoned that they were still studying the decision.
"Currently, the Public Prosecutor's Office is still studying the decision," Head of the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Riono Budi Santoso, said in a statement, Thursday, July 29.
The prosecutor team did not want to rush to determine the steps. Because, continued Riono, they have 14 days to make a decision on the decision from PT DKI Jakarta.
"The decision on the appeal case on behalf of the defendant Joko S Tjandra was received last Friday," said Riono.
The DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) decided to cut the sentence of Joko Soegiarto Tjandra alias Joko Tjandra to 3 years and 6 months.
Originally, at the first instance, the panel of judges at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) sentenced Joko Tjandra to a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months.
"Therefore, the defendant is sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison," said the PT Jakarta decision on the Supreme Court's website quoted by VOI, Wednesday, July 28.
Still in the PT's decision, Joko Tjandra was also given a criminal fine. The amount did not change with the verdict in the first level decision, namely Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
The decision to reduce the sentence for Joko Tjandra is contained in the decision of PT JAKARTA Number 14/PID.TPK/2021/PT DKI.
"Change the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court on April 5, 2021 Number 50/Pid.Sus-TPK/2020/PN.Jkt.Pst just regarding the mention or qualification of the crime that the defendant has committed and the length of imprisonment imposed on the defendant. defendant," he wrote.
