Lifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah Wins Bronze Medal At Tokyo Olympics
JAKARTA - Indonesian lifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah donated a bronze medal for Indonesia in the 73 kg weightlifting event at the Tokyo Olympics, Wednesday, July 28.
Rahmat won bronze with a total of 342 kg, with a snatch of 152 kg and a clean and jerk of 190 kg, which he recorded in the earlier Group B match.
Meanwhile, the gold medal went to Chinese lifter Shin Zhiyong with a total lift of 364 kg (166 kg snap and 198 kg clean and jerk) which is also a new world record for the men's 73kg class.
The silver medal was won by Venezuelan lifter Mayora Pernia Julio Ruben with a total lift of 346 kg (156 kg snap and clean and jerk 190 kg).
This medal is the third medal from the weightlifting branch as well as for the Red and White contingent in Tokyo 2020.
Previously, Windy Cantika also contributed a bronze medal in the 49 kg class, while Eko Yuli Irawan won silver in the 61 kg class.
