IPhone Users Can Now Enjoy Facebook Cloud Gaming Services
JAKARTA - The game seems to be the best choice of activity when the lockdown is still happening. Facebook has also launched a cloud service for playing games for iOS users.
This service, which is usually called a cloud game, seems to be a solution for developers to be able to produce games that can be played flexibly. That means, games can be found and played on a variety of devices.
The playing process that is run through a cloud server allows players to have more freedom to access the game without being limited to compatible devices. To expand users of cloud gaming services on Facebook Gaming, the company launched a cloud gaming service for iPhone.
It seems that Facebook will go the same way with other cloud gaming services. So, cloud games can only be accessed via a web application. This can be done by Facebook because Apple has relaxed some regulations regarding restrictions for streaming apps.
However, Apple's easing of restrictions for third-party developers is still quite strict. Apple has implemented a policy that prohibits third-party developers from being able to put their apps directly on the device without going through the App Store.
So, although Facebook is finally able to launch its service via the web, it seems that cloud games will not run optimally on the iPhone because it is still too inconvenient for users.
"If Apple's policies are strict, it is not possible to be able to present cloud games on the App Store. This is because Apple issued a policy that allows cloud-based games to be placed on the App Store, but on the condition that the games must be registered as individual applications to the App Store for review. and given permission by Apple," said Vice President of Facebook Gaming, Vivek Sharma as quoted by Ubergizmo, Monday, July 26.
Added, Vivek Sharma if Apple's policy is clearly very different from the goal of the cloud game system, which contains a collection of games so that they can be played flexibly.
This policy is also complained by developers who have cloud game services, such as Microsoft. Although there is a policy from Apple for developers to be able to put individual games into the App Store, it doesn't answer the developer's need to be able to release the official channel of cloud games on iOS.
