Mahfud MD: Moving, There Is A Professor Who Dies After Handing Over Oxygen To His Junior Who Is Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD shared the story of a professor who died after giving the remaining oxygen to another patient who was exposed to COVID-19. This story was conveyed through his Twitter account.
Without mentioning who and where the incident occurred, Mahfud said the professor in the field of medicine distributed the only remaining oxygen to his juniors.
"There is also a senior medical professor giving the opportunity to his juniors to use the only oxygen left when both of them have Covid," he tweeted on the Twitter account @mohmahfudmd quoted Monday, July 26.
Mahfud said, the professor deliberately gave oxygen because he felt that his juniors still had a lot of time to serve. After giving the oxygen, the professor finally died.
"Before he died the professor said to his juniors, 'You are young, you still have a long chance to serve. Use the oxygen'. That's a touching story," he said.
According to Mahfud, this story is touching because in difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still many people who want to share.
However, he said many other touching stories including people who tested positive for COVID-19 could be treated and eventually recovered after undergoing good treatment.
"There are many good stories where people who were infected with Covid 19 and had been treated and underwent treatment calmly and participated in the procedure were able to recover," wrote Mahfud.

In addition to this story, the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court also told that there was a conglomerate in East Java who died while waiting in line for handling COVID-19. Just like the previous story, Mahfud did not mention who the rich people were who did not receive treatment at the hospital.
"It's moving. There was a rich man in East Java who died while waiting in line for treatment," he said.
Previously, Mahfud had mentioned that wealth and position were useless when seeking treatment due to exposure to COVID-19 in a hospital. He said that all without exception had to queue if they wanted to be treated due to the full capacity of the hospital.
In addition, he also said that people who are rich or have current positions can no longer travel abroad to seek treatment. The reason is that many countries have closed their access due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
